Frequently Asked Questions

What Should We Expect for Our First Physical Therapy Visit?

This session typically begins with an introduction and a discussion about your child's medical history, developmental milestones, and any specific concerns you may have. The therapist will then conduct a gentle assessment of your child's movement, strength, and flexibility through playful activities designed to make your child feel comfortable and engaged. This initial evaluation helps the therapist create a personalized treatment plan aimed at promoting your child's physical development and achieving their therapy goals. Throughout the appointment, open communication is encouraged, ensuring you feel informed and involved in your child's therapeutic journey. At this time, the therapist can address any questions/concerns the caregiver may have and educate you on activities to start working on. During this initial assessment, the therapist may spend 30-45 minutes conducting hands-on assessment and 15 minutes will be allotted for discussion.

What If I Have More Questions After the Evaluation?

Any questions that arise after the evaluation can be addressed via email, phone, or in-person conversations. Additionally, one of the benefits of our Concierge Physical Therapy service is instant messaging with your therapist.

What Ages Do You Work With?

The children we see typically range in age from 10 days to 5 years old, however we may continue to see children beyond that age to maintain continuity of care. By providing specialized care tailored to each developmental stage, our interventions support infants and young children in achieving critical milestones.

How Long Will My Baby Need Developmental Support?

For Developmental Play Coaching sessions, parents often start to see improvements in their ability to help their child move at the first visit.

For Physical Therapy, the duration of services for a baby depends on the specific developmental delays or conditions they are experiencing. It is typically recommended to start therapy as soon as possible to help the child achieve key developmental milestones, and the treatment plan will be individualized based on the child's needs, which can vary widely in length. The best way to gauge this is through a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed pediatric physical therapist.

Does Brave Babies Physical Therapy Accept Insurance?

We do not accept insurance for concierge services that include private visits to the child’s home and/or daycare. By operating outside of insurance constraints, Brave Babies can allocate more time and resources to each child, ensuring a higher quality of service and a more direct relationship between the therapist and the family. This model allows for customized treatment plans without the limitations and administrative burdens often imposed by insurance companies.

Patients/clients are free to discuss Out-Of-Network plan benefits before the initial evaluation, however reimbursement directly from the therapy provider or the insurance company for services is not guaranteed.

How Much Are Private In-Home Sessions?

Brave Babies private sessions are generally priced from $200 to $250. The range takes into consideration the specific services required as well as the travel distance for services to ensure that your child receives tailored, high-quality care in the comfort of their preferred environment. Packages for long-term services are also offered seasonally.

Can I Bring My Baby to You for Physical Therapy?

Yes, Dr. Brave has limited availability to treat patients in Plantation, FL. In addition, there is a possibility health insurance coverage may be applied for these visits, however this must be discussed at the time of scheduling.
